Scale of imprisonment for non payment of money adjudged to be paid by order

Subject in every case to the provisions of the statute on which the order is founded, the period of imprisonment, which is imposed by the court in respect of non-payment of any sum of money adjudged to be paid by an order shall be that period which, in the opinion of the court, will satisfy the justice of the case, that is to say, a period not exceeding that mentioned in the second column of the following scale in respect of the sum of money mentioned in the first column.
