Time and place of hearing

(1) On the day and at the place mentioned in the summons or on and at which the defendant is brought before a court or to and at which the case is adjourned, as the case may be, the cause with respect to which the complaint has been made shall be called for hearing in the court. (2) The room or place in which a court is held for the purposes of the hearing shall be deemed an open and public court, to which the public generally may have access, so far as it can conveniently contain them.
