Powers of amendment

(1) The court may at all times amend all defects and errors in any proceedings in such court, whether there is anything in writing to amend or not, and whether the defect or error is that of the party applying to amend or not. (2) All such amendments may be made with or without costs and upon such terms as to the court may seem just, and all such amendments as may be necessary for the purpose of determining the real question in controversy between the parties shall be so made, if duly applied for.
