Writ of subpoena for witness

(1) A person whose attendance as a witness, whether for the prosecution or for the defence, is required in any cause, and who has not been bound by recognisance to attend as a witness at the sitting of the court at which the cause is to be tried, may be summoned by a writ of subpoena under section 81 of the Supreme Court of Judicature Act. (2) Every writ of subpoena shall be issued in the name of the Queen and tested in the name of the Chief Justice.
