Cap. 96, s. 26 · Revised Edition 2020

(1) If an accused person is brought before a magistrate charged with a crime committed without the limits of his jurisdiction, he may, after hearing both sides, order the accused person, at any stage of the inquiry, to be taken by a police officer before the magistrate having jurisdiction in the place where the crime was committed. (2) The magistrate so ordering shall give a warrant for that purpose to a police officer, and shall deliver to the police officer the information, depositions and recognisances, if any, taken in the cause, to be delivered to the magistrate before whom the accused person is to be taken, and the information, depositions and recognisances shall be treated to all intents as if they had been taken by the last-mentioned magistrate.
