Adjournment of trial

(1) From the time when the accused person is given in charge to the jury or when the jury is sworn, the trial shall proceed continuously, subject to the power of the court to adjourn it. (2) No formal adjournment of the court shall hereafter be required and no entry thereof in the Crown Book shall be necessary.
