Appointment of bailiffs by city councils

(1) The Belize City Council, the Belmopan City Council and any Town Council constituted and established under the Town Councils Act, may appoint a fit and proper person to be a bailiff of the courts for the judicial district in which the city or town council is situated. (2) Subject to section 31, a bailiff appointed under sub- section (1) shall have all the powers, rights, privileges and duties of a bailiff appointed under section 29, whether such powers, rights, privileges and duties are conferred under this Act or any other Act.
