Attendance of jurors at special sitting

(1) The Chief Justice may make such orders as may be necessary to procure the attendance of special or common jurors for the trial of any cause or matter at such special sitting of the Court, at such time and place and in such manner as he may think fit, and prescribe the number of jurors to be summoned, having regard to the list of causes and matters pending for trial by jury at that special sitting. (2) Every juror who without lawful excuse fails to attend and to serve in accordance with the summons issued in pursuance of such orders shall be liable to the same penalties as may be imposed upon jurors for non-attendance under the Juries Act.
