Venue in civil action

The venue in any civil action, cause or matter may be laid– (a) in the case of an action founded on contract, in the district in which the contract was entered into; (b) in all cases, in the district in which the defendant resides; (c) in the district in which the land, chattel or thing involved in the action, cause or matter is; or (d) in all cases, in the district in which the wrongful act was committed or other cause of action arose, and such action, cause or matter shall be tried at the place where the venue is laid.
