Writ of habeas corpus

The common law right to the writ of habeas corpus, as confirmed and regulated by the Habeas Corpus Act 1679, c. 2, and extended by the Habeas Corpus Act 1816, c. 100, shall be part of the law and procedure of Belize and, subject to any rules of court, shall be granted and issued as nearly as possible in accordance with the practice and procedure for the time being in force in regard to that writ in the High Court of Justice in England. 24
