Restriction on officer’s purchase of property sold at execution

No officer or person employed in any way whatever in the registry shall directly or indirectly or by the intervention of an agent or trustee or otherwise, purchase any property sold at execution, and if that officer or person purchases or is interested in the purchase of any property at an execution sale, he shall, upon proof thereof to the Public Services Commission, be dismissed from his office or employment, Provided that nothing in this section contained shall prevent the officer or person from purchasing at execution sale any property which it is necessary for him to purchase in order to protect the interest of himself, his wife or his child.
