Registration of Electors

(1) Every person who possess the qualifications mentioned in section 5 shall be eligible, subject to the provisions of this Act and rules made thereunder, to be registered as an elector and to be issued with an identification card. (2) The rules contained in Schedule II shall apply for the purposes mentioned in sub-section (1). (3) Rules made under this section may provide for punishment for offences that are committed in connection with the registration of electors and the issue of identification cards.
