(1) An application for leave to withdraw a petition shall be in writing signed by the petitioner or petitioners or his or their agent or agents. It shall state the ground on which the application is supported. The petitioner applies to withdraw his petition upon the following ground (here state the ground) ..................... and prays that a day may be appointed for hearing his application.
