Pensions not of right

(1) No officer shall have an absolute right to a pension under this Act nor shall anything contained in this Act limit the right of a Council to dismiss an officer in its service without a pension or to operate without a pension scheme. (2) Where it is established to the satisfaction of a Council that an officer in its service has been guilty of negligence, irregularity or misconduct, the officer’s pension may be reduced or altogether withheld.
