Owners or occupiers to pay for the collection and disposal of garbage

(1) Every owner or occupier of premises in the City of Belmopan shall pay a monthly fee to the Council for the regular (2) Without prejudice to the generality of sub-bylaw (1) above, where the owner or occupier of premises in the City of Belmopan has additional refuse, the owner or occupier of the premises shall pay an additional fee to the Council for the collection of such additional refuse. (3) The Council shall before the end of February of every year, submit to the Minister for approval, the fees referred to in sub-bylaws (1) and (2), to be charged for the next financial year and such fees shall become effective on the 1st April next ensuing. (4) In the event that Council does not submit the fees to be charged as provided in sub-bylaw (3), the fees that were last declared shall remain in force until changed by the Council in accordance with sub-bylaw (3). (5) Notwithstanding sub-by laws (1), (2), (3) and (4), it shall be lawful for the Council, by resolution in that behalf approved by the Minister, to exempt any person or class of person from the payment of the monthly fee referred to in sub-by law (1) or the additional fee referred to in sub-bylaw (2). (6) The Ministry shall cause to be published the fee referred to in sub-bylaw (1) in the Gazette in the month of March each year. 52 Belmopan City Council in Schedule I.
