Pensions not of right

(1) No officer shall have an absolute right to a pension under this Act nor shall anything contained in this Act limit the right of the Council to dismiss an officer without a pension. (2) Where it is established to the satisfaction of the Council that an officer has been guilty of negligence, irregularity or misconduct, the officer’s pension may be reduced or altogether withheld.
