Duplicates

(1) There shall be paid on every duplicate or counterpart of an instrument chargeable with duty– (a) where such duty is less than $1.00, the same duty as on the original instrument; or (b) in every other case, a duty of ................ $3.00 (2) A duplicate or counterpart of an instrument chargeable with stamp duty shall not be deemed duly stamped unless it is stamped as an original instrument, or it is shown that the original instrument is duly and sufficiently stamped.
