Power of Contractor-General to investigate notwithstanding Ombudsman Act

(1) Notwithstanding the investigative powers conferred upon the Ombudsman under the Ombudsman Act, the Contractor-General shall have power to investigate any allegation of fraud, corruption, mismanagement, waste, abuse or other impropriety or irregularity in the award, execution or termination of any contract or in the grant, issue, suspension or revocation of any prescribed licence. (2) In carrying out his investigations, duties and responsibilities under this Act, the Contractor-General shall have particular regard to the activities and functions of the Ombudsman with respect to investigations under the Ombudsman Act, with a view to avoiding duplication of functions and ensuring effective coordination and cooperation between his office and that of the Ombudsman.
