Corruption of officer

Any person who, in or with reference to any matter under this Act, (a) offers, gives or promises to give, directly or indirectly, any reward to any officer or person employed in the execution of this Act in respect of the performance or non- performance by any such officer or person of his duties; (b) agrees with or proposes to any such officer or person to do or permit to be done anything in contravention or evasion of this Act or of his duty; or (c) being such an officer or person, (i) receives, except as provided by section 88, any reward in respect of the performance or non- performance of his duty or employment; or (ii) by any wilful act, neglect or default, does or permits, or agrees to do or permit, anything in contravention or evasion of this Act or of his duty, is 46 liable to a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars, or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months.
