The Ombudsman

(1) For the purpose of conducting investigations in accordance with the provisions of this Act, there is hereby constituted an Office of a Parliamentary Commissioner to be known as the Ombudsman. The (2) The Ombudsman shall be appointed by the Governor- General acting on the recommendations of both Houses of the National Assembly contained in resolutions passed in that behalf. 7 (3) Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in this Act, the office of Ombudsman shall not be deemed to be an office in the public service.
