Absence of Members

(1) Any Member who is prevented from attending a meeting of the House shall acquaint the Clerk as early as possible of his inability to attend. (2) If, without the leave of the Speaker obtained in writing before the end of the last of the sittings referred to in this paragraph, any Member is absent from the House for more than six consecutive sittings occurring during the same Session, and within a period of no longer than three calendar months, such Member shall vacate his seat in the House under section 59 (2) of the Belize Constitution.
