Customs duties to be levied

(1) Subject to any exemption or rebates provided by or under the authority of this Act, there shall be raised, levied, collected and paid for the use of the Government, the customs duties, in respect of goods imported into Belize, or taken out of bond for consumption in Belize, at the rates set out in Schedule I. (2) The Minister may from time to time by Order published in the Gazette vary the tariff headings appearing in Schedule I (by fragmentation or otherwise), to give effect to any scheme for the rationalization of the tariff structure.
