Composition of the Committee

(1) The Committee shall be composed of the members provided in sub-regulation (3) below, who shall be appointed by the Minister for such period and for such terms as may be specified in their instruments of appointment. (2) The members of the Committee shall consist of– (a) two representatives from each of the six districts who are actively involved in the organization, promotion, administration or playing of sports in Belize; (b) three persons from the private sector recommended by the Council, at least one of whom shall be an attorney-at-law qualified to practice law in Belize. (3) The Minister shall appoint a Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Secretary from among the members of the Committee. (4) The names of all members of the Committee as first constituted, their terms of office and every change in such membership shall be published in the Gazette. (5) Where for any reason the Chairman is unable to preside at any meeting of the Committee, the Deputy chairman shall preside at that meeting.
