Admission of children

(1) No child shall be admitted to a residential care facility for children without the consent of the Ministry. Social Service Agencies 71 (2) Without prejudice to subsection (1) above, a child may be admitted to the residential care facility for children under emergency protection without the consent of the Ministry if it is determined by the police in consultation with the operator that he/she is suffering or likely to suffer harm. A social services practitioner or other duly authorized person in the Ministry shall be notified of such admission within 24 hours and a written report of the circumstances of the admission shall be submitted within 72 hours of such admission.
