Rate of maternity allowance

(1) The weekly rate of maternity allowance shall be equivalent to eighty percent of the average weekly insurable 66 Social Security earnings and the amount of benefit per day shall be one sixth of the weekly amount. (2) For the purposes of this Regulation, “average weekly insurable earnings” means the sum of the weekly insurable earnings on the basis of which contributions were paid during the period of thirty–nine consecutive weeks specified in subparagraph (b) of Regulation 10 divided by the number of contributions paid.
