Portion of cemetery may be assigned to a denomination

(1) The Town Council or Director of Health Services, as the case may be, may upon petition from any church or denomination direct that any part of a public cemetery be set aside for the burial of the bodies of members of the particular church or denomination, and thereupon a portion shall be set aside for such purpose.
