Power of medical officer of health to order destruction of vermin

(1) Any medical officer of health, who considers that any building, or any vessel, whether in quarantine or not, or any article, whether in a building or vessel or not, or any person or the clothing of any person is in such a verminous state as to be likely to spread disease, may direct such building or vessel or any part thereof or such article or clothing to be fumigated or otherwise treated, or such person to bathe or otherwise treat his entire body in such manner as may be necessary to ensure the complete destruction of all vermin. (2) Such fumigation or treatment shall be carried out by or under the orders of a medical officer of health.
