Duties of medical officer in places where there is no hospital or dispensary

When a medical officer is resident in any place in which there is no hospital or dispensary, he shall attend at such places and times as may be fixed by the Minister, to give gratuitous medical advice, and surgical aid, and dispense medicines to indigent persons who produce certificates which would entitle them to treatment in a dispensary if one existed in the place, and he shall also visit such persons in their homes when upon the certificate of a magistrate it appears that such persons are incapable of attending at the dispensary or place appointed.
