Interpretation

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires“AIDS” means the acquired immune deficiency syndrome caused by the human immunodeficiency virus; “Chairperson” means the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Commission appointed by the Prime Minister under section 3; “Commission” means the Belize National AIDS Commission established under section 3; “Executive Director” means the Executive Director appointed by the Commission under section 12; “Global Fund” means the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria; “HIV” means the human immunodeficiency virus; “HIV/AIDS-TB” means a case where TB is co-infected with HIV or AIDS; and 6 “TB” means tuberculosis.
