Change of ownership of a registered heritage asset

(1) A person who purchases or acquires a heritage asset must, within 28 days of the date of the completion of the purchase or acquisition, notify NICH in writing of– (a) the person’s name and address; and (b) in the case of the purchase or acquisition of a building, whether the person intends to occupy the building. (2) A person who has notified NICH of information under sub-section (1) must, within 28 days of the date of any change to the information provided, notify NICH in writing of the National Cultural Heritage 30 (3) A person who fails to comply with this section commits an offence, and is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding twenty-five thousand dollars or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years, or to both such fine and imprisonment.
