Evidence by certificate

In any proceedings for an offence under this Part, the production of a certificate signed by the Director shall be sufficient evidence of the facts therein stated in respect of the age or archaeological source of any ancient monument or antiquity without proof of his signature or official capacity, unless the defence requires that he be called as a witness.
