Establishment of the Institute

(1) There is hereby established a body called the National Institute of Culture and History. National Institute of Culture and History 9 (2) The Institute shall be a body corporate with perpetual succession and a common seal, with power to enter into contracts, to sue and be sued by law in its corporate name and may for all purposes be described by such name, to acquire, hold, mortgage, lease and dispose of all kinds of property, moveable and immovable, real or incorporeal, and to do and perform all such acts and things as bodies corporate may by law do and perform, subject to the provisions of this Act.
