Safety and security of radioactive sources

(1) The Office shall, by regulations, develop a system of control over radioactive sources and devices in which the sources are incorporated to ensure that they are safely managed and securely protected during and at the end of their useful lives. (2) The Office shall, by regulations, using internationally recognized guidance, adopt a categorization of sources based on potential injury to people and the environment that could result if the radioactive sources are not safely managed or securely protected.
