Responsibility of licencee to ensure safety

(1) The licencee shall be primarily responsible for ensuring safety. (2) The licencee and any other party having responsibility for safety shall ensure compliance with the requirements and dose limits prescribed by the Office and shall ensure that radiation doses to workers and the public, including doses from releases into the environment, are as low as reasonably achievable, taking into account social and economic factors.
