Ban on importation

(1) Subject to subregulation (2) below, no person shall import any hazardous waste into Belize without first obtaining written authorization from the Department, provided no such authorization shall be given unless the person establishes to the satisfaction of the Department that– (a) the hazardous waste will be used as a raw material for an industry in Belize; and (b) there will be no harm to the human health and the environment from the use of such (2) No person shall import hazardous waste into Belize for the purpose of disposal.
