Interpretation

(1) In these RegulationsCap 326:01 “Act” means the Customs Brokers and Customs Clerks Act; “Association” means the Customs Brokers and Customs Clerks Association of Belize; “Board” means the Customs Brokers and Customs Clerks Board established under section 3 of the Act; “CARICOM national” means a person who– (a) is a citizen of a Member State; or (b) has a connection with a Member State of a kind which entitles that person to be regarded as belonging to or, if it be so expressed, as being a native or resident of such a Member State for the purposes of the laws of the Member State relating to immigration; “customs broker” has the meaning assigned to it in the Act, and includes a person who holds a valid licence to transact business 8 at Customs, including the submissions of entries, on behalf of other persons, and is registered and licenced under these Regulations as a customs broker; “Secretary” means the Secretary of the Board; (2) Other words and expressions used shall have the meaning respectively assigned to them in the Act.
