Person carrying on business as customs broker at commencement of Regulations

(1) Notwithstanding regulation 6 (1), where at the commencement of these Regulations, a person has been carrying on business as a customs broker, that person may – (a) continue to carry on that business for a period of not more than three months; and (b) apply for a customs broker’s licence within the three-month period, in accordance with (2) A person under subregulation (1) who applies for a customs broker’s licence before the expiration of the three- month period may be exempt from the examination under regulation 6, and the Board, if satisfied of the competence and fitness of the person, shall issue to the person a custom broker’s licence on payment of the prescribed licence fees.
