Responsibility for charges and appearances in court

(1) Where an attorney engages a foreign attorney to advise on a case or to cooperate in handling it he is responsible for the payment of the latter’s charges except where there is express agreement to the contrary, but where an attorney directs a client to a foreign attorney he is not responsible for the payment of the latter’s charges, nor is he entitled to a share of the fee of the (2) Where a foreign attorney is retained to appear in a court in Belize he shall not so appear unless accompanied by an attorney ordinarily practising in Belize.
