Annual practicing fee

(1) Subject to these Regulations, every person whose name has been entered in the Medical Practitioners Register shall pay annually to the Registrar the practising fee in accordance with the following Table4 Medical Practice TABLE OF ANNUAL PRACTICING FEE Category Citizens of Belize Foreigners or Non- Citizens of Belize (1) General Practitioner with less than 5 years standing since qualified $100.00 $200.00 (2) General Practitioner with standing of 5 years or more since qualified $200.00 $400.00 (3) Specialist Doctors $250.00 $500.00 (2) In the event of a difference or dispute as to the category in which a medical practitioner falls, the decision of the Medical Council thereon shall be final. (3) The Minister may, in the case of a medical practitioner who is wholly engaged in voluntary work in an established institution for a period not exceeding three months, waive the practicing fee specified in subregulation (1) above. (4) The annual practising fee prescribed above shall be paid before the 30th November of each year. (5) If a medical practitioner applies for registration on or after the 1st July in any year, only one-half of the annual practicing fee prescribed above for the category appropriate to the applicant shall be payable for that year.
