Workmen employed by the Government

In the application of this Act to the persons in the civil employment of the Government of Belize whenever provision exists by law or regulation made under any law for the grant of a pension or gratuity to any member of the public service in the case of injury received by him in the discharge of his duties, or to any person who, in the event of death of any such member resulting from that injury, would be entitled as a dependant to compensation under this Act, then in the assessment of compensation under this Act in respect of an injury arising out of and in the course of the employment of such member, the amount contributed out of public funds towards such pension or gratuity under any such law or regulation shall be taken into consideration and corresponding reductions shall be made in the amount which such member or dependant would otherwise have been awarded as compensation under this Act. 46
