Pattern approval of weights and measuring equipment

(1) All weights, measures and weighing and measuring instruments used for purposes of trade and in the fields specified in section 22 (2) of this Act, shall be subject to pattern approval on the payment of the prescribed fee, by the Director in accordance with the specification and limits of error as may be specified by Regulations made by the Minister under this Act. (2) Where on a subsequent examination of any weight, measure or weighing or measuring instrument which has been approved earlier by the Director it is found to be defective, the Director shall have the power to cancel such earlier approval and notify any affected person of such cancellation. 19
