Enforcement

(1) The Commissioner of Police shall enforce or cause to be enforced the provisions of this Act relating to the hours of opening and closing of shops and prohibited sales. (2) The Director of Health Services appointed under the Public Health Act, Cap. 40 shall enforce or cause to be enforced the provisions of section 17 of this Act (which relate to sanitary accommodation) and any Health Officer or other officer or person employed for the purpose of carrying out the provisions of this Act shall for the purposes of his powers and duties have, in relation to shops, all the powers conferred on such officers by section 205 of the Public Health Act. (3) The Labour Commissioner shall enforce or cause to be enforced the provisions of this Act relating to shop assistants and their hours of work and any labour inspector may appear as a prosecutor for and on behalf of the Labour Commissioner.
