CFZ labour regime

(1) All CFZ businesses shall pay their workers in the currency determined by the Central Bank of Belize after consultation with the NFZA. (2) There shall be no restrictions on the opening and closing of CFZ businesses which may open twenty-four hours, seven days a week, provided that such businesses obtain the prior approval of the respective CEO. (3) The Immigration Department, on the recommendation of the respective CEO, may grant work permits to non-resident persons who are shareholders of a CFZ business or CFZ developer or who are required to work within a CFZ in managerial or technical positions. 28
