Entitlement to repayment

Every depositor and every person legally authorised to claim on behalf of or as representing such depositor shall, subject to the proviso hereinafter contained, upon claiming repayment in such form and manner as shall be from time to time prescribed, be absolutely entitled to immediate repayment from the moneys in the Treasury of all or any portion of the sum standing to the credit of such depositor, provided always that when any amount exceeding five hundred dollars shall be so claimed, it shall be lawful for the Minister in 16 Savings Bank lieu of making immediate repayment to postpone making the same for such period not exceeding one month as to him may seem fit.
