Licences to be taken out by moneylenders

(1) Every moneylender or person who intends to carry on moneylending business, in or from within Belize shall apply to the Registrar for a licence. (2) An application referred to in sub-section (1) shall be made in accordance with section 6. (3) Any person who– (a) is under the age of 18 years; 19 (b) in the opinion of the Registrar, is not a fit and proper person; or (c) has an associate who, in the opinion of the Registrar, is not a fit and proper person; is not eligible for a licence.
