Jurisdiction of local courts on motor-vehicle insurance policies

Whenever a company carrying on motor vehicle insurance business has accepted a vehicle involved in an accident as a total loss or agreed to pay the insured for loss of the vehicle, the company shall within seven days of such acceptance or agreement notify the Licensing Authority accordingly giving full details of the damage to the vehicle.
