Legal status

The Organisation, the General Secretariat and the Office shall have in Belize– (a) full legal status and personality and, consequently, the capacity to acquire rights and undertake obligations and, in particular, to contract for, dispose of, or encumber for any cause, furniture and real estate and rights; to institute legal and administrative proceedings and, in general, to execute all legal acts or business inherent in the performance of their duties. (b) independence and freedom of action appropriate to international organisations, in accordance with international custom and the customs of the place, without prejudice to the other provisions of this Order.
