Age of applicant and period of licence

(1) An applicant for the grant of a private pilot’s licence (flying machines) must be not less than seventeen years of age. (2) The period for which a licence may remain in force, following either the grant or any renewal thereof, shall not exceed – (a) twenty-four months if the applicant is less than forty years of age; or (b) twelve months if the applicant is forty years of age or more.
