What deemed approved type

For the purposes of regulation 19(1) of these Regulations, instruments and equipment shall be deemed to be of an approved type if they are of a type which has been certified by the Board or by any person authorised for the purpose by the Board, as complying with a particular specification which is for the time being approved by the Board.
