Technical examination

The applicant shall, subject to the provisions of regulation 157 of these Regulations, be required to undergo an examination (including practical tests) as to his knowledge of the following subjects– (a) aerostatics, density of gases, laws of Mariotte and Gay-Lussac; barometric pressure, Archimedes principle; confinement of gases; (b) physical and chemical properties of light gases, and of materials used in the construction of airships; (c) general theory of airships; (d) dynamic properties of moving bodies in air; (e) elementary knowledge of internal combustion engines; and (f) inflation; stowage; rigging; handling; controls and instruments.
